Yesterday, the Florida Times-Union gave away two tickets to Jacksonville residents for Thursday nights Blues Brothers Revue at the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts. The event was featured in our February event calendar. While your chance to win a free ticket is over, there are still plenty for sale over at Ticketmaster, including a few in the orchestra pit. The Official Blues Brothers Revue describes itself as a high-energy show, and is a cant miss event for fans of Jake and Elwood. Sometimes notable events pop up that I miss when compiling the monthly events calendar. A concert to benefit the Harvest of Hope Foundation is set for this Sunday at the music venue Jack Rabbits in San Marco. The show features The Dubbies, Coyote Chow, Christina Wagner, Shoni and the Mike Bernos Band. Things get started at 8:00 p.m. The Harvest of Hope Foundation is a not-f0r-profit organization that provides aid to migrant farm workers, who often lack key benefits. February 2012 is a very musical month in Jacksonville, with several notable concerts, ranging from major headliners like Willie Nelson, Kelly Clarkson and Gladys Knight, to alternative acts like The Lemonheads. |
